Influence of Relay Herbicides on Main Properties of Bradyrhizobium japonicum

The influence of herbicide Relay on the main properties of Bradyrhizobium japonicum was studied in pot experiment with two soils – Leached Smolnitza (Haplic Ver-tisol), Bozhourishte and Alluvial-Meadow soil (Fluvisol), Tsalapitza. As an experimen-tal crop was used Daniela soybean variety. Two herbicide concentrations, correspon-ding to recommended in practice dose (2000 ml/ha for Alluvial-Meadow soil and 2800 ml/ha for Leached Smolnitza) and twice high-er (4000 ml/ha and 5600 ml/ha, respectively) were investigated. It was established that Relay has a negative effect on the virulence, symbiotically fixed nitrogen and the effici-ency of the Bradyrhizobium japonicum. The negative influence was most strongly pro-nounced for the treatments with higher her-bicide concentrations. The virulence decre-ased twice, the quantity of fixed nitrogen was 30 % less and the yield was nearly 20 % less. It was shown that the herbicide effect on studied properties of Bradyrhizobium ja-ponicum depends on the soil properties. The negative influence was more clearly pronounced in the Alluvial–Meadow soil.
