The essential information for the evaluation of the effect of the atmosphere and vegetative cover on the soil water sto-rage dynamics is always the course of soil moisture in the whole depth of the soil profile. Through the processing of soil profile moisture values can be obtained the rates of increase or decline of the soil water storage. The most exact data, describing the change of the soil water storage provides the direct monitoring, organized during the hydrolo-gical year or vegetative period. The change of the water storage in the aeration zone of the soil profile can be also determined through the use of the actual evapotranspi-ration data, but only in the situation, when groundwater table level has not a hydrolo-gical contact with the aeration zone of the soil. In this article are presented the results of the quantification of the soil water storage change (in mm/day) in the selected profile of the soil aeration zone. Data from soil mo-isture monitoring from 2 localities of Zitny Ostrov area and values of actual evapotranspiration Eta, obtained by numerical simula-tion on hydrological model HYDRUS, were used. Selected localities Kalinkovska horaren and Kralovska luka represents agricultural ecosystem and ecosystem of Danubian riparian forest.
