Pengaruh pemberian kascing terhadap produksi dan kualitas beberapa varietas edamame (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)
2009
Syukri M.Z.
The aim of this experiment was to study the effect of cascing application and variety of Edamame on the production and quality of Edamame soybean. This study was conducted at Mangli, Kaliwates, Jember, in Regosols soil type, on 74 m above sea level. The design of experiment was randomized completely block design consisted of two factors with three replications. The first factor was variety of Edamame, i.e. R75 (V1), R75-S2 (V2), and R76 (V3). The second factor was ratio of combination between inorganic fertilizer and casting (C), which was combined in such a way so that amount of nitrogen was equivalent to number of nitrogen recommended by PT Mitratani Duatujuh, i.e. No cascing + 100 percent N inorganic (CO), 50 percent N cascing + 50 percent N inorganic (Cl), 75 percent N cascing + 25 percent N inorganic (C2), and 100 percent N cascing + without N inorganic (C3). The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaf, number of stem, number of internodes, number of pods, pod weight of raw material (RM), standard export material (SE), standard quality (SQ), second grade (SG) per plant, total sugar content (brix), raw fiber, and vitamin C. The result indicated that R75 variety was able to produce better yield raw material/RM (6.98 t/ha) and export material/EM (4.98 t/ha) compared to R75-S2 (RM 6.67 t/ha, EM 4.96 t/ha) and R76 varieties (RM 6.50 t/ha, EM 4.86 t/ha). R75 variety was able to produce a better standard quality/SQ (2.81 t/ha) compared to R76 varieties (2.76 t/ha). Cascing 50 percent and 75 percent could improve yield (raw material/RM and export material/EM) and product quality (standard quality/SQ) on Edamame. There was interaction between variety and cascing on production and quality of Edamame.
