Survey of potato fields for identification and dissemination Globodera sp. in the country

Potato cyst nematodes ( Globodera rostochiensis & G. pallida) are important soil borne pathogens in world-wide.In a research project, these nematodes were monitored in Fars province during 2009- 2013.The most important potato growing area in this province were Shiraz, Eghlid, Bavanat, Khorambid, Kazeroon and Darab.In early ten years, the surface of potato farms in above area and some other regions were five to more than twelve thousands hectars. Three below groups of farms were chosen and 1207 soil and root samples from 760 hectars were collected. Villages with old previous of sowing potato (not sowing in recent years), winter soil samples in bare farms that potato were damaged in past year and finally collection of soil and root samples in the present potato farms. In this survey potato cyst nematodes were not found in all of the samples.
