Study effects of Biomite doses in control of apple orchards spider mite population and its side effects on natural enemies of them in Tehran, West and East Azerbaijan, Ardebil and Esfahan provincesύ

Maximum acaricidal control measures applied against Tetranychus urticae on various host plants followed by Panonychus ulmi which mainly infested apple orchards in the country. Effectiveness of different doses (1, 1.5 and 2 ppm) of Biomite, a new organic acaricide with anti mite feeding, controlling all mobile stages, male sex attractant, evaluated in apple orchards during 2011. Mite mortality% caused by Biomite doses, compared with recommended doses of Spirodiclofen SC 240, two Fenpyroximate (SC, EC 5%) formulations, Etoxazole SC 10%, 1.5cc /liter water soap spray on P. ulmi infested red apple variety. Complete block randomized designed with three replications and each replicate with four apple trees with uniformity in age, canopy according least pesticides history selected. Those treatments were applied at early morning hours with considering at least 5 mite active stages on 30% of collected leaves randomly according presence/absence sampling method. Water spray also used in controlled treatment. Mite mobiles mortality% recorded from 50 leaves collected randomly from each apple trees treatment at interval of 3, 7, 14, 21, 35 days after treatments. Data analysis carried out by SAS method. Mean of ERM before treatments on apple trees in Ardebil, Esfahan, East Azerbaijan provinces observed higher than predicated mite density while in West Azerbaijan this observation was almost identical. Max. Mite density among treatments recorded for dose of 2ppm of Biomite (24.33 19.99 mites) with highest mortalities% (97.4%) in E. Azerbaijan. The highest and sustainable control effects up to 35 days (77.05%), 21 days (87.43%), 14 days (74%) and 3 days (85.8%) recorded in Ardebil, E. Azerbaijan, and Esfahan and W. Azerbaijan provinces respectively. Side effects results of Biomite doses on apple natural enemies of ERM showed that less hazardous. The application of higher doses of Biomite at initial ERM density and apple trees infestation, make possible organic control measures of this mite pest in the country.
