This experiment was conducted in 2011-2012 in the locations of Dezful and MoGHAN, I.R.Iran , to evaluate the bolting resistance characteristics and to Compare the qualitative and quantitative traits of domestic and foreign cultivars of sugar beet. The experimental design was a randomized complete block in 25 treatments (cultivars) with 4 replicates. 22 foreign cultivars along with 3 domestic monogerm hybrid cultivars as a local check were compaired. experiment,s Resuts in both regios showed that there were significant differences in root yield, sugar yield, purity and K,Na impurities, bolting percent, sugar content and white sugar content. Significant differences was observed for nitrogen impurity in dezful region, but different cultivars were in the same level of probability based on this trait. Results of experiment 234790 in Dezful showed that the cultivars Azaba, Hi0541, Merak, Antek, Hi1114, Vico, Nexus and HI0702 with 14.98 ,14.98, 14.84, 14.65, 14.58, 14.15, 13.49 and 13.31 t/ha had the highest and the cultivar 9597(susceptible control) with 5.75 t/ha had the lowest white sugar yield. Significant difference were observed for bolting resistance among the cultivars. Mean percent of bolting was 8.21%.The cultivar 9597 with 62.25 percent bolting had the highest bolting percentage. The cultivars Jaca, Jawaher, Giada, HI0826, Merak, Chimene and Monatunno were without bolting symotoms(ziro percent) and were resistant to bolting. Results of experiment 194790 in MOGHAN showed that the cultivar Antek, with 11.81 t/ha had the highest and the cultivar 9597 with 3.54 t/ha had the lowest white sugar yield. The cultivars Antek, Merak, HI1059 and Hi0549 with 11.81, 9.71, 9.66 and 9.43 t/ha white sugar yield respectively were the top cultivars. Significant difference was observed for bolting resistance among the cultivars. Mean percent of bolting was 13.4%. The cultivar 9597 with 66.42 percent bolting had the highest bolting percentage. The cultivars suprima, Levante, HI1114, St12038, Chimene and Monatunno were without bolting symotoms (ziro percent) and were resistant to bolting. Experimental data in Mashhad due to problems caused by the weather condition and the distance from the location of the experiment were not calculated.
