We compared the effect of the herbicides of Propizamid (kerb 50% WP) at the doses of: 3, 4 and 5 kg/ha), Imazethapyr (persueit 10% SL), at the doses of: 750, 1000, and 1250 (g/ha) with chloretal Dimetil (Dactal 75% WP) on dodder and other weeds of alfalfa fields during two years of 1995 -1996. The herbicides were applied as post emergence but before attaching to host. The layout of CRBD was used with 4 replication which contained 8 treatments as mentioned above along with a control. The results showed that 11 species of weeds were collected and determined as follows: Crepis sp.,Sonchus arvensis, Convolvulus arvensis, Cardaria draba, Chenopodium album, Tragopogon collinus, Cynodon dactylon, Lolium sp., Alyssum sp., Bromus sp. and Setaria viridis. Moreover it was concluded that herbicides of dactal and Kerb were more effective than persueit and may be recommended on dodder and other weeds of alfalfa fields. Regarding residue effects of the herbicides, we found no negative effect of emergence on barley and sugar beet after 6 months. Key words: dodder, control, herbicide
