Chilocorus bipustulatus L. is one of the most important natural enemies of scale insects (Diaspidae) in Guilan province, Iran. Investigation on rearing methods of this natural enemy would improve development of biocontrol programmes. In the present study, three different hosts including Pseudaulacaspis pentagona Targioni, Chrysomphalus dictyospermi Morgan and Sitotroga cerealella Olivier were used to compare their efficacy for Ch. bipustulatus, mass rearing. Though no significant differences were observed among 3 treatments, P. pentagona, had better effects on Ch. bipustulatus mass rearing, provided considering a good protection of its culture from Prospaltella berlisi parasitation. Therefore, duration of egg incubation, larval, pupal and adult stages of Ch. bipustulatus on P. pentagona were 9.2±2.3, 25.8±2.7, 8.6±2.7 and 33.4±6.1 days, respectively.
