Collecting recognition evaluation of Ross hybrids and cultivars in Mashhad Botanical Gardenύ.

Rose is one of plant genus which is used in the landscape and has many different usages. This genus with a 150-200 species around the world has nearly the most species in the family (Rosaceae). Existence of genetic diversity for most of traits within the genus including petal color, growth habit, days to flowering, inflorescence type, and so on leaded to production of various hybrids and cultivars which consist of more than 40,000 verities in around the world. Because of its morphological characteristics, utilization variation and adaptability to various climates, rose is planted in most of countries including Iran, rose country. Therefore, rose researchers are interested in study of different aspects of the plant such as landscaping, enhancement of genetic diversity and so on. To access of these scopes, rose garden in Mashhad Botanic Garden was performed in about one hectare of area with emphasis on Iranian gardens architecture and use of local masonry components. This place including of shrub, climbing, miniature, and wild types of rose collections is ready to visitors as well as researchers. So far, a total of 120 lines have been collected consist of 81 rose and Rosa damascena and 13 genotypes of wild types.
