Improving the nutritive value of corn stalklage by urea and molasses treatment and assessing its effect on performance of fattening male lambs.

This Experiment was carried out to determine the effects of using treated corn crop residues with two ratios of urea and molasses (%4urea+%5molases and %4urea+%10molases) by using complete randomized design in the ration of fattening lambs, and also evaluates its chemical composition and in vivo apparent digestibility. The corn crop residues treated and untreated were included to replace 0, 30 and 50% of total forage in the ration of fattening lambs. The rations (iso-nitrogenous and iso-energetic) were fed to 6 Turky Ghashghaii ram lambs. The data were analyzed by using the SAS software, and the means were compared by using the Duncan s test. In vivo digestibility coefficients for DM, OM, NDF and ADF of treated corn crop residues (4% urea + 5% molasses), (4% urea + 10% molasses), and untreated were (55.4%, 75.8%, 56.4%, 49.7%), (60.6%, 61.1%, 61.1%, 54.3%), and (48.9%, 49.4%, 49.4%, 41.9%) respectively, that was significant differences between treated and non-treated corn crop residues. Inclusion of corn crop residues in the ration of fattening lambs can be effective due to feedlot performance results.
