The quantitative traits and heterosis effect on the F1 polycross hybrids Lavandula angustifolia Mill. were studied and promising hybrids were selected. Totally, ninety hybrids were studied, of which nineteen ones were distinguished by the content of essential oil. The effect of heterosis in F1 polycross hybrids of lavender is obviously expressed by the height of the bush, the number of inflorescences, and the content of essential oil. The polycross hybrid Fr.5S- 8-24 is the most promising for selection of new variety-clones. This hybrid is distinguished by the highest content of essential oil making 5.790% (dry weight), while the effect of heterosis is +157%. The content of the major component of the essential oil (linalil acetate) is 44.713% in the F1 polycross hybrid Fr.5S-8-24.
