The climate warming is a global problem of our time. On the territory of the Central Chernozemic Region (CChR) there is a fall of groundwater level, an increase of dryness index and continentality of the climate. The traits of seed production and cytogenetic variability of seed progeny of Scots pine trees in the contrast weather conditions are studied. The groups of sensitive and tolerant trees to the drought were selected. Statistically reliable differences of cytogenetic traits between these groups established. Obtained data testify about the intensity of reaction of the different genotypes to stressful conditions and the degree of stability of the genetic material to the abnormal hydrothermic regime.
