Producing and processing of raw milk in the Republic of Belarus appears one of the most important branches of national economy. Dairy industry is particularly restricted by governmental documents and national development programs, by the level of competitiveness of national dairy production is lower than of foreign producers. Therefore, research of foreign experience in the sphere of milk production appears a serious scientific and practical challenge. The experience of economically developed countries of the world (USA, European countries, New Zealand, Australia) in the field of competitiveness of the dairy industry is analyzed in the article. Main peculiarities and specific characteristics of the dairy industry are reflected. The ways and directions of the development of the dairy industry of the Republic of Belarus are substantiated and offered.
