In SF "ZhodinoAgroPlemEhlita" (Minsk area) the estimation of the breeding value of pigs of Belarusian plant type of Yorkshire breed of the French selection was carried out with using selection indices (composite index of reproductive traits of sows and composite index of boars' breeding value). Reproductive qualities of sows estimated on following parameters: polycarpic effect (heads), morula weight at birth and weaning (kg), milking in 21th day (kg), and quantity of pigs at weaning in 32th day (heads). Results of reseach indicate the need for a more rigorous selection of animals on the main traits
