2011
Suharto H.
Paddy cropping index 300 (CI-300) is improvement of growing rice twice a year to three times a year. To anticipate the outbreak pest in CI-300, therefore the experiment were conducted to evaluate pest population. For this experiment a randomized completely block design of factorial with three replications were applied. The first factor is pesticide application based on monitoring and control, and the second factor is nine varieties/lines of rice. The varieties were Ciherang, Mekongga, Inpari 3, Silugonggo, Inpari 1, and the lines were OM 5240 (OM5), OM 4495 (OM6) S4616-PN-7-3 dan IR 71146-407-2-1-2-2-l. To determine the effect of CI-300 to the nearby field, ten samples in the Experimental Farm (EF) and ten samples fom nearest rice field were monitored 3, 6, 9 weeks after planting. Results indicated that there was a different of the brown plant hopper (BPH) population among planting times. The infestation of pests in experiment farm (EF) and nearby field almost the same, because the nearby farm is practied CI-300, similarly to the EF.
