Geographic Information System(GIS)is a useful too for spatial management of ground data that provides information for managers anddecission makers of different sectorssuch asagriculture, natural resources and the environment. Despite the development of aquaculture and fishery activities in Yazd province, there is no comprehensive spatial information about quality and quantity ofpotential regionsand sites for aquaculture and its development. Main purpose of the present case studyis to map different quality parametrs of ground water resources of Bahadoran plain and to select suitable regions for aquaculture activities. In this study, previous and new data of ground water qualities(including: anions, cations, bicarbonate, hardness, alkalinity, acidity, salinity, dissoved oxygen and CO2) were acquired, mapped and classified based on the available standards for growing of two major fish species (carp and rainbow trout; Oncorhynchus mykiss). Ovellaying the mentioned classfied maps then were accomplished to identify potential regions for growing of these two species. Results of the present study were illustrated in form of two final maps or guidelines, representing suitable regions for carp and rainbow trout cultures, separately. The guidelines can be easily used by decission makers for aquaculture site selection and also development of related activities in the studied area.
