Study the quantitative and qualitative traits of durum wheat lines / varieties in uniform preliminary yield trials in Moderate zone of Iran (PDYT-M92)

This study was conducted to select high yielding and promising durum wheat lines tolerant to diseases. In this study 140 pure lines selected from International Durum Yield Trial in Moderate region were studied in non-replicated trials in two research stations of moderate zone, Karaj and Neishabour. Two checks including Dena (durum wheat) and Parsi (bread wheat) were repeated after every 10 lines. During the crop season some trials such as the days to heading, days to maturity, plant height, 1000 kernel weight and grain yield was recorded. Based on yield of the genotypes compared to the flanking checks and moving means, desirable agronomic traits and response to important disease, 38 lines were selected for further evaluations in advanced durum wheat yield trials (ARDYT) of next cropping season.
