Standardization of rabbit and guinea pig complement manufactured by Razi institute.

Guinea pig complement that manufactured in Razi vaccine and serum research institute generally used in laboratories for diagnostic tests.laboratories need to have some information about characteristics of product to have repeatable results when use a new reagent. In addition the manufacturers need to have this information for producing effective and _at the same time_ economical products. One of the important requirements of the complement reagent is hemolysing effect that determine by CH50. Evaluation of 3 batches of Razi guinea pig complement by their hemoliing titer, showed that this titers (181,195.175) are higher than other commercial products. Also they were very different from each other. The lyophilisation process had not significant effect on hemolytic titer of product and indicated that the bulks of product can be tested and adjusted to 100 CH50 -if applicable -before filling. For this a user friendly software designed that can be used for CH50 and diluents need for adjustment calculation.
