Althenia Petit (Zannichelliaceae) in Asian Russia – the predicted finding of the rare halophilic genus

Altenia orientalis (Tzvel.) Garcia-Mur. & Talavera (Zannichelliaceae) has been found in the Asian part of Russia for the first time. This floristic novelty supplements the species list of the macroscopic aquatic plants of saline lakes on the south of Russian Siberia. It is recommended to include this rare stenobiontic species to the Red Data Book of Novosibirsk Region.
