anglais. In a course of the research there were studied the demand and peculiarities of its formation in the domestic food market of the Republic of Belarus. Food market is a complex regulated system of social and economic relations that arise between its subjects in the process of production, distribution, exchange and consumption of food and raw materials. From its sustainability depends on providing the population with essential food for reasonable medical standards and socially acceptable prices. In this regard, the study of theoretical and methodological bases of formation and functioning of the demand for food as a basic mechanism of functioning of the instrument balanced food market as well as its evaluation is an important task that requires constant attention. Thus, the main types of food that make up the basic food basket must be affordable for all categories of the population within physiologically reasonable standards of nutrition. The solution to this complex problem cannot be at the level of individual households or enterprises-producers.

Продовольственный рынок представляет собой сложную регулируемую систему социально-экономических отношений, возникающих между его субъектами в процессе производства, распределения, обмена и потребления продовольствия и сырья. От его устойчивости зависит обеспечение населения жизненно важными продуктами питания по обоснованным медицинским нормам и социально приемлемым ценам. В этой связи изучение теоретических и методологических основ формирования и функционирования спроса на продовольствие как основного инструмента механизма функционирования сбалансированного продовольственного рынка, а также его оценка являются важнейшей задачей, требующей постоянного внимания.
