Показаны основные направления ее научной деятельности по плодоводству, овощеводству и кормопроизводству, кадровый состав, достижения, а также вклад ее сотрудников в подготовку высококвалифицированных кадров для агропромышленного комплекса. За время существования кафедры под руководством ее преподавателей и сотрудников выполнено около 1500 дипломных работ и проектов, 13 магистерских диссертаций, подготовлено и издано 14 учебников, учебных пособий и книг, 10 научно-популярных брошюр и лекций, 4 монографии, опубликовано около 750 печатных работ, выпущено примерно 150 агрономов-плодоовощеводов.

anglais. The article presents a brief historical sketch of the development and establishment of the Department of horticulture and grassland, since its inception (10.08.1971- ending the present day). The basic directions of its scientific activities on fruit and vegetable growing, fodder production, personnel structure, achievements and contributions of its staff in the training of highly qualified personnel for the agro-industrial complex are shown.
