Effect of abiotic environmental factors on the content of antimicrobial proteins thionins in barley (Hordeum vulgare)

anglais. The article analyzes the influence of abiotic factors on the content of antimicrobial proteins – thionins in barley (Hordeum vulgare) seedlings. In course of the research it has been found that the content of antimicrobial proteins thionins in barley is reduced during low temperature stress compared to control plants and that it is caused by a slowdown in the accumulation of thionins at a low temperature. Under the conditions of drought and flooding the amount of thionins in barley increases several times. The increase in thionin levels in barley plants during drought depends upon the variety of barley and is inversely dependent upon its drought resistance. In contrast, the rate of increase in thionin content during flooding is in direct dependence upon tolerance of barley seedlings to this stressor. The acquired results suggest that the level of thionins registered under the action of abiotic environmental factors can be used as an indicator of biotic stress tolerance and also that it can be a part of a comprehensive evaluation of barley plants tolerance to biotic and different types of abiotic stresses at least to drought and flooding.

russe. Изучено влияние низкой положительной температуры, засухи и подтопления на содержание антимикробных белков тионинов в проростках ячменя различных сортов. Установлено, что содержание антимикробных белков тионинов в проростках ячменя при низкотемпературном стрессе снижается по сравнению с контрольными растениями, что обусловлено замедлением накопления тионинов при низкой температуре. В условиях засухи и подтопления, количество тионинов в проростках ячменя возрастает в несколько раз. При этом превышение уровня тионинов в растениях ячменя под влиянием засухи зависит от сорта ячменя и находится в обратной зависимости от его засухоустойчивости. Напротив, степень возрастания содержания тионинов под влиянием подтопления находится в прямой зависимости от устойчивости проростков ячменя к данному стрессору. Полученные результаты позволяют предположить, что уровень тионинов, зарегистрированный в условиях действия абиотических факторов внешней среды, с одной стороны, можно использовать как показатель устойчивости растений к биотическому стрессу, с другой стороны, он может быть составной частью оценки комплексной устойчивости растений ячменя к биотическому стрессу и абиотическим видам стресса, по крайней мере к засухе и к подтоплению.
