anglais. The paper identifies the factors that constrain the expansion allocated for planting alfalfa acreage. It is determined that to ensure sustainable yields of alfalfa seeds in addition to performing agricultural practices it is necessary to provide a sufficient amount of insects-pollinators for seed stands, which will allow to obtain 5-10 times greater seed yield. Leaf-cutting bee (Megachile rotundata) served as studied lucernepollinator.It was used standard technology at the maintenance of the bees. To the fields of lucerne the bees were brought up from places of their permanent basing or from arrays of other varietal crops. Registration strips by 100 м2 at different distance from the apiary (50 m, 125, 150, 200 and 250 m) were allocatedfor the quantitative account of bees on array of flowering lucerne. The account of bees was spent from the first dayuntil the end of flowering. When analyzing the behavior of bees on the flowers of lucernes was considered the place of their landing on the flower, the duration of stay on the flower, and also some features of their behavior. One of the reserves for increasing seed production of the culture can become breeding of leaf-cutting bees. In addition, the apiary, containing the leaf-cutting bees pollinating lucerne seed crops, makes profit at the rate about 10 mln. rubles per 1 ha. Its maintenance pays off within a year.

russe. В статье определены факторы, сдерживающие процесс расширения отводимых под культуру люцерны посевных площадей. Установлено, что для обеспечения устойчивых урожаев семян люцерны помимо выполнения агротехнических приёмов необходимо обеспечивать семенные травостои достаточным количеством насекомых-опылителей, что позволит получать в 5–10 раз больший урожай семян. Изучаемым опылителем люцерны служила пчела-листорез (Megachile rotundata). При содержании пчёл использовали стандартную технологию. На поля люцерны пчёл подвозили с мест их постоянного базирования или массивов других сортовых посевов. Для количественного учёта пчёл на массиве цветущей люцерны выделялись учётные полосы по 100 м2 на разном расстоянии от пасеки (50 м, 125, 150, 200 и 250 м). Учёт пчёл проводился с первых дней и до конца цветения. При анализе поведения пчёл на цветках люцерны учитывалось место их посадки на цветок, продолжительность пребывания на цветке, а также некоторые особенности их поведения.Таким образом, одним из резервов повышения семенной продуктивности названной культуры может стать разведение пчёл-листорезов. Кроме того, пасека, на которой содержатся опыляющие семенные посевы люцерны пчёлы-листорезы, приносит прибыль в размере около 10 млн. руб. с 1 га. Её содержание окупается в течение года
