Assessment of content of cadmium and lead in selected dried culinary plants

inconnu. The results of research on content of cadmium and lead in 70 samples of selected dried culinary plants on detail sale was presented. The technique used to determined the content of heavy metals was flame atomic absorption spectrometry. In dried culinary plants there was found different contents of lead and cadmium depending on the plant species (Pb: 0,02-2,25 mg/kg, Cd: 0,011-0,879 mg/kg). The average heavy metals content in dried culinary plants from hypermarkets was higher compared to the droughts from organic stores, except garlic samples. The risk of health hazards resulting from the intake of the metals from dried culinary plants was also estimated.
