Om8928 - a promising rice variety

OM8928 was selected from combinatorial hybrid OM3536/AS996. OM8928 was short duration (90-95 days), strong tillering, good shape. It was resistant to BPH and blast (level 3-5), high yield (6-8 tons / ha), 10-15% higher than the check varieties, good quality. This is one of the most promising varieties suitable for the different requirements. Areas which grown in 2012 in the Mekong delta 18,194 ha. This variety has been suitable for the Mekong delta regions and the South-Eastern provinces. OM8928 has been recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development under decision No. 385/QD-TT-CLT17 May 8,2012.
