The study was conducted in 5 districts and City with vegetable production of Quang Binh province in 2012- 2013 aiming to determine residues of nitrate content and active compounds from pesticides in mustard and bitter gourd. 40 samples of mustard and 10 samples of bitter gourd were collected in different times to analyze. Research results indicated that there were 47 observed samples with residual effects, 28% vegetable samples with residues of active compounds from pesticides. However, most of samples had residues of active compounds from pesticides below maximum range level. Most of residues in mustard were belonging to organic phosphorous group such as Dichlorvos, Chlorpyrifos, Ethroprofos, Prothiofos,... with 25/47 observed samples (occupying 53.2%), number of samples with high nitrate content were 5/50. In number of surveyed samples, bitter gourd had high residues of active compounds from pesticides and nitrate content, but they were in allowance range. While mustard had low number of samples with residues effects, but number of samples with above allowance range was higher than in bitter gourd
