Floristic diversity in nam dong precious and rare conifer species reserve, Quan Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province

The study was conducted to determine plant biodiversity in Nam Dong Gymnospermae Reserve, Quan Hoa commune, Thanh Hoa province. Results clearly show that Nam Dong Gymnospermae Reserve has high diversity with 6 natural forest ecosystems, 373 plant species belonging to 116 families of the 5 vascular plant divisions, of that Magnoliophyta is the dominant division with its species accounted for over 90 percent of the total number of species. Especially, in the high level from 700 m to 1600 m above sea level in Nam Dong Gymnospermae Reserve there are 6 endangered species listed in the Red Data Book of Vietnam 2007 and the Red List of the IUCN 2012 including Pinus kwangtungensis, Cephalotaxus mannii; Amentotaxus argotaenia, Amentotaxus yunnanensis; Taxus chinensis, and Podocarpus neriifolius.
