Results of rice wild genetic resources coulection in some southern province, 2013

In the framework of annual tasks, year 2013 Plant Resource Center has conducted collected and surveys wild rice genetic resources in some wild rice genetic resources, including DongThap, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Tien Giang and Long An. Results were obtained 39 wild rice genetic resources with collected number from 2013-01-001 to 2013-01-040. The study results also showed that 100% genetic resources are the source of low-lying fields and lakes belong to wild-type plants, reproduction by seeds. In addition, the results also showed that 95% of genetic resources has existed for over 10 years in locals. After collecting All genetic resources were processed and stored in long-term cold storage in plant gene bank of the country. Wild rice genetic resources are important material sources, valuable, capable of containing many rare traits, need to be studied,, exploited, used in the crop variety improving programs in Vietnam now and in the future.
