Research on two potassium solubilizing bacteria isolated from sandy soil of bush Binh Dinh province for groundnut

Summary Potassium is one of the essential macro nutritional elements for the growth and development plants, in soil, most of potassium exists as minerals containing dissolved potassium that plant can't use directly. Many species of soil microorganisms are able solubilize insoluble potassium to soluble ones. Aim to select bacteria for the production of microbial inoculants for groundnut from sandy soil of Binh Dinh province of Vietnam, this research focused on the isolation, selection and evaluation the ability to use potassium solubilizing bacteria for groundnut. The results have shown that two potassium solubilizing bacteria (S3.1 and S1.1) selected from sandy soil grown groundnut in Binh Dinh province. Isolate S3.1 and SI.I can be creating feldspar solubilizing zone (clear zone) respectively 12.0 mm, 8.2 mm in plate agar with Aleksandrov medium and after 4 days of incubation in liquid Aleksandrov medium; content of soluble potassium respectively 192 mg K2O/1 and 18.4 mg K2O/1. Two selected bacteria bad positive effects on the growth, development and yield of groundnut. Using selected bacteria can be increased the potassium uptake ability of groundnut reaching 10 - 20% in greenhouse. The results from DNA sequencing have shown that and SI. 1 had 97% identities with Faembacillus alkaluerrae and S3.1 had 99% identities with Poembacillus castancae. Two selected bacteria had high biosafety (level 1) and allowed the widespread use in production of micro - biofertilizer.
