The Novi Sad area belongs to hygrophilic, mesophilic and xerophilic forest habitats. This environment is unsuitable for coniferous species. In the studied area, longitudinal monitoring has indicated a significant reduction in life expectancy of many species, especially of the representatives of conifers. Among the introduced representatives, Cupressus arizonica Green, Taxodium distichum (L.) Rich, Tsuga canadensis Carr. and Cedrus atlantica G.Don have demonstrated exceptional adaptability, condition and vitality in the urban Novi Sad environment.
