PBRC algorithm in induction motor fault detection

In this paper, a new method for fault detection and isolation of induction motor is proposed, which uses Potential Based Recursive Clustering Algorithm (PBRC). The detection of faults is achieved by analyzing vibration signal, using the adaptive PBRC algorithm for grouping and classification data for identification of the fault or unwanted operating mode of the induction motor. This method allows the detection broken rotor bars, which represents the majority of failures that occur during exploitation.
