The transitional distortion of agriculture and the agrarian market in Serbia is a consequence of the inappropriate concept of the total development policy, especially the agrarian one (unsuccessful privatization, uncontrolled liberalization and tycoonization). It is reflected in the production-structural extensification (a reduction in the share of cattle-breeding) and especially in the extensification of the structure of foreign-trade exchange (an increase in the shares of raw materials in export, and final products in import). From the macroeconomic point of view, increased import of final agrarian products can be observed as an opportunity cost of increased export of certain primary products. The goal of the paper is to provide a concept of a methodological model that would enable us to perceive this agrarian-economic phenomenon on concrete examples, together with a comparative analysis of the trends in production, consumption, export, import and the prices of reproductively connected products. In the paper, a dynamic quantitative model is constructed, as a system of functionally connected equations, with the help of which, in a successive line, numerous intermedial magnitudes are derived. Ultimately, it enables the quantification of total opportunity costs.
