in the article the retrospective analysis of a food situation in Russia is carried out. The entity and components of the food market are considered. An assessment of a status and level of support of the population with a food in Bryansk region is given. The region role in a policy of import substitution is defined. Mechanisms of regulation of development of the food market at the regional level are revealed.
