Evaluation of the influence of height of winter wheat plants on productivity in the conditions of the Central Chernozem region | Оценка влияния высоты растений озимой пшеницы на продуктивность в условиях Центрального Черноземья

The results of studies on the evaluation of the influence of height of winter soft wheat plants on productivity and its elements depending on the genotype and vegetation conditions are presented based on the data obtained in 1990-2013 in the conditions of the Central Chernozem Region (CCR). Field experiments were carried out using the conventional agricultural technique employed in the CCR (the predecessor was bare fallow and the seeding rate was 5 mln germinated seeds per 1 ha). Contingency was evaluated by the method of correlation and regression analysis. Statistical data processing was performed using the Statistica 6.1 software package. It was found that hybrid populations obtained by crossing of plants with different heights had greater polymorphism, which is important for revealing the new biotypes of winter wheat plants for selection and further breeding. At the same time the probability of positive transgression by plant height is much lower compared to the populations obtained by crossing of plants that do not differ in their height. In this case the positive transgressions have a double meaning. On the one hand, they might lead to a decrease in the lodging resistance of hybrid plants, the parents of which were characterized by the height of more than 110 cm. On the other hand, it might be possible to increase the length of stalks of plants of excessively short, but high-yielding varieties. It is advisable to use the obtained data in the selection of parent components for hybridization in order to create the high-yielding varieties of winter wheat that are resistant to lodging and suitable for the arid conditions of the CCR. It was found that the crossing of genotypes with different strength of correlative relation between plant height and productivity allows creating the varieties with the optimal height and good lodging resistance.

Представлены результаты исследований по оценке влияния высоты растений озимой мягкой пшеницы на продуктивность и ее элементы в зависимости от генотипа и условий вегетации, проведенных по данным за 1990-2013 гг. в условиях Центрально-Черноземного региона (ЦЧР). В полевых опытах использовалась общепринятая для ЦЧР агротехника (предшественник – чистый пар, норма высева – 5 млн всхожих семян на 1 га). Сопряженность признаков оценивали методом корреляционного и регрессионного анализов. Статистический анализ данных осуществляли с помощью пакета Statistica 6.1. Установлено, что гибридные популяции от скрещивания растений, различающихся по высоте, характеризуются большим полиморфизмом, что важно для выявления новых биотипов растений озимой пшеницы для отбора и дальнейшей селекции. При этом вероятность возникновения положительной трансгрессии по высоте растений намного ниже по сравнению с популяциями, получаемыми при скрещивании растений, не различающихся по высоте. Положительные трансгрессии в данном случае имеют двоякое значение. С одной стороны, они могут стать причиной снижения устойчивости к полеганию гибридных растений, родительские особи которых характеризовались высотой более 110 см. С другой стороны, появляется возможность увеличения длины стебля растений чрезмерно низкорослых высокопродуктивных сортообразцов. Полученные данные целесообразно использовать при подборе родительских компонентов при гибридизации с целью создания высокопродуктивных, устойчивых к полеганию сортов озимой пшеницы для аридных условий ЦЧР. Установлено, что при скрещивании генотипов с разной силой корреляционной связи высоты растений с продуктивностью можно создавать устойчивые к полеганию сорта оптимальной высоты.
