EFFECT OF A NUTRITIONAL MOLECULARLY ACTIVATED SUPPLEMENT (VIUSID vet) ON THE PRODUCTIVE AND HEMATOLOGIC PERFORMANCE OF REPLACEMENT GILTS | EFECTO DE UN SUPLEMENTO NUTRICIONAL ACTIVADO MOLECULARMENTE (VIUSID vet) SOBRE EL COMPORTAMIENTO PRODUCTIVO Y HEMATOLÓGICO DE CERDAS DE REEMPLAZO

anglais. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the effect of the nutritional supplement VIUSID vet on productive and hematologic performance of replacement gilts. There were used 64 Yorkshire gilts of 97 days of age; 26 of them were used as a control group, and 38 of them were treated. The treatment consisted on supplying the supplement in a dose of 2 g/kg of food for 70 days. It was applied a totally randomized design. Since there was a significant difference (P 0.05) for the initial weight (42.11kg for the control group and 36.86kg for the group to be treated) and it was not possible to block the effect of this indicator due to the pens having been settled before the experiment started, the increment of weight was adjusted by using the initial weight as a concomitant variable. For the hematological study they were taken samples from 26 sows at the beginning and the end of the experiment (14 control and 12 treated). For the study before and after there was applied the T test for related samples; and to evaluate the percentage of animals with leukocytosis it was used the Hypothesis test for proportions. The product significantly improved (P0.05) the weight gain (45.78kg vs. 48.85 kg), the average daily gain (0.654 vs. 0.698 kg) and the alimentary efficiency (3.91 vs. 3.66), and positively influenced on the increase of the values for hematocrit and plasmatic protein. It was concluded that by supplying 2 grams of the nutritional supplement VIUSID vet per feed kilogram it can be significantly improved the productive performance of growing gilts as well as their hematologic values.

espagnol; castillan. El trabajo tuvo como objetivo evaluar el efecto del suplemento nutricional VIUSID vet sobre el comportamiento productivo y hematológico de cerdas de reemplazo. Se utilizaron 64 cerdas en desarrollo de 97 días de edad de la raza Yorkshire, 26 fueron usadas como testigos y 38 fueron tratadas. El tratamiento consistió en suministrar diariamente 2 gramos del suplemento por kg de alimento durante 70 días. Se utilizó el diseño completamente al azar. Por haber existido diferencia significativa (P0.05) en el peso inicial (42.11kg para el grupo control y 36.86kg para el grupo tratado) y no haber sido posible bloquear el efecto del mismo por estar los corrales conformados desde antes del inicio del experimento, se ajustó el incremento de peso utilizando el peso inicial como variable concomitante. Para el estudio hematológico se tomaron muestras a 26 cerdas al inicio y final del experimento (14 del grupo control y 12 tratadas). Para el estudio antes y después se utilizó la prueba T para muestras relacionadas y para evaluar el por ciento de animales con leucocitosis se utilizó la Prueba de hipótesis para proporciones. El producto mejoró significativamente (P0.05) el incremento de peso (45.78 vs. 48.85 kg), la ganancia media diaria (0.654 vs. 0.698 kg) y la conversión alimenticia (3.91 vs. 3.66), e influyó positivamente sobre el incremento de los valores de hematocrito y proteína plasmática. Se concluyó que el suministro de 2 gramos del suplemento nutricional VIUSID vet por kilogramo de alimento, mejora significativamente el comportamiento productivo de las cerdas en desarrollo así como sus valores hematológicos.
