Mediterranean fisheries are undergoing a vulnerable situation as a result of different drivers, namely: overfishing, disputes between fishermen views and specific fishing policies, strong power position of wholesalers, etc. There is a clear loss of competitiveness of Spanish Mediterranean fisheries against other countries or even against national fisheries based on the Atlantic. Because of these problems, Mediterranean fisheries are in strong need of improving commercialization and providing fishermen's with innovative tools to handle underused species of fish due to commercial and, at the same time, reducing food waste generated, for all these reasons this project it´s based on a working plan for the creation of a fish soup industry where we will study all the fundamental aspects of this business. The result of this project shows the viability of this fish soup industry both in economic values and in the proposed time period (2019), where the landing obligation will come into force and will be useful solution to face it.
