Some allelochemical could be used as natural herbicide, only if it expresses phytotoxic activity at low concentrations, its chemical structure is identified, the mode of action in plants is known, the time of retention in the soil is known, and the effects on the microorganisms present in the soil is known. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of three concentrations (0,1; 0,2 and 10%) of Saturea montana L. (Lamiaceae) aqueous extract, as a potential natural herbicide, on the growth of useful microorganisms. By analyzing the results of the disc-diffusion test of the applied concentrations of the aqueous extract on useful bacteria and fungi, it has been shown that the aqueous extract did not show microbicidal effect.
