Construction of Genetic Linkagemap and QTL Analysis for Foliar Disease Resistance, Nutritional Quality and Productivity Traits in Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L)
2011
c sarvamangala
A mapping population consisting of 146 Recombinant Inbred Lines obtainedfrom the cross TG 26 x GPBD 4 (F9 generation) was used in order to identifymicrosatellite markers/QTLs associated with foliar disease resistance, nutritional qualityand productivity traits.Phenotyping for various traits viz., rust (three stages), late leaf spot (LLS) (twostages), protein and oil content, eight fatty acids (Palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, arachidic, eicosenoic, behenic and lignoseric fatty acids), four derived traits for fattyacids (O/L ratio, Iodine value, U/S ratio and %S), two agronomic (Plant height andnumber of branches) and four productivity traits (no. of pods, pod yield, shelling % and100-seed weight) were carried out in five different seasons (Rainy 2005, 2006, 2007 andPost-rainy 2007 and 2008) at U.A.S., Dharwad. Parental screening (1043 SSR primers)and genotyping of 53 polymorphic markers for the mapping population was carried outat ICRISAT, Patanacheru, Andhra Pradesh. Phenotypic and genotypic data weresubjected statistical analyses for establishingmarker-trait association
