Since the oilseeds represent a source of lipids and proteins that are nutritionally and energetically very valuable, and the number of people on the planet is growing, in the last decade the amounts of produced oilseeds are growing, too. The increase in the area on which oilseeds are grown are also recorded. In 2005/2006 393.92 million metric tones (mmt) of oilseeds was produced, while in 2017/2018 produced amount was 574.19 mmt. Also are growing produced amounts of vegetable oils and protein meals. In 2014/2015 were produced 177 mmt of vegetable oil and 329.98 mmt protein meals while in 2017/2018 world production of vegetable oils was 196.59 mmt and protein meals was 329.98 mmt. In the last 11 years, prices of vegetable oils and protein meals have largely been accompanied by oilseed prices on the world market.
