Genetic variability of different physical properties of maize kernel enables possibilities of changes in the quantity and quality of certain grain components in breeding programs. Improving the nutritional value of maize kernel is one of the main goals of modern breeding programs. Grain characteristics and composition depend on the genetic structure and genotype and determines the quality, nutritional value and the usage of maize kernel. The aim of this study was to determine the genotypic differences in the content of starch, protein and oil in NS maize hybrids depending on fertilization systems. The results show significant differences in the tested parameters depending on the system of fertilization and cultivated hybrid.
