In order to determine the degree of species differences in adoption and distribution of metals between Stenactis annua (L.) Ness and Heilantus tuberosus L, the quantity of Mn, Ni, Fe, Cu, Zn, Cr, Ca, Mg was determined in the soil and underground and overground organs of investigated species. The results showed that the S. annua species accumulates larger amounts of Mn, Fe, Zn and Cr relative to the species H. tuberosus. Bioconcetration factor greater than 1 was found in S. annua for Zn and H. tuberosus has bioconcentration factor greater than 1 for Cu. Based on the results of the variance analysis we can conclude that there is a very high statistically significant difference in the content of investigated metals between H. tuberosus and S. annua.
