In the period from August to September 2018, complex field activities andsampling of soil samples in disturbed and undisturbed condition were carried outin 25 locations of the Toplica district, Republic of Serbia. Water-physical andchemical properties of agricultural soil were analyzed in soil samples from openpedological profiles and sampled composite samples from the sites where surveyswere conducted. Data on the climatic characteristics of the study area and thecharacteristics of the studied soil types were collected and analyzed. All soils inToplica district that were under survey, can be used for agricultural production. Insome locations, the application of complex ameliorative measures are required inorder to improve adverse water-physical and chemical properties, especially inheavy soils such as Vertisol and Distric Cambisol. Based on the obtained results,ameliorative and agro-technical measures, that can contribute to the developmentand increase in the efficiency of agricultural production in the study area, wereproposed.
