Weed seed reserves in vineyards in Subotica

Examination of weed seed bank in agro ecosystems has a big importance for estimating future weed occurrence. During autumn of 2014 on locality Subotica, soil sampling has been conducted in rows and between rows in locale of intensive production vineyard. During previous three years, row surfaces were treated with herbicides, the surfaces between rows were kept weed free with soil tillage. Soil was sampled with a probe during September in ten replications from depths: 0,00-10,00 cm, 10,01-20,00 cm and 20,01-30,00 cm. Number of weed seeds is expressed per m3 . Seed determination has confirmed presence of 23 weed species. After the determination it has been concluded that the total number of weed seeds in the surface between rows is in total 47.459 per m3 . In soil layers 0,00-10,00 cm 20.895 seeds, 10,01-20,00 cm 19.064 seeds, 20,01-30 cm 7.500 seeds per m3 . Number of total weed seeds in vineyard rows 23.684 per m3 . Number of seeds in vineyard rows per soil layers 0,00-10,00 cm 13.401 seeds, 10,01-20,00 cm 8.368 seeds, 20,01-30 cm 1.915 seeds peer m3 . Weed species with the largest number of seeds in space between rows and in vineyard rows were: Amaranthus retroflexus, Portulaca oleracea, Stellaria media and Chenopodium album.
