Cherry hosts more than thirty viruses. The most important cherry viruses are: Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRV), Cherry mottle leaf virus (CMLV), Cherry leaf roll virus (CLRV), Cherry rasp leaf virus (CRLV), Prune dwarf virus (PDV), Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (ACLSV). Fast and accurate diagnosis plays an important role, because it is difficult to control. The certification scheme lists contain commonly accepted detection methods, but due to their shortcomings, the improvement of already existing methods, their combination, or the research of new detection methods, detection are needed. In addition to the visual inspection of plant material, the detection methods described in the paper are: biotest detection, protein-specific detection methods (ELISA, DIBA) and nucleic acid detection methods (DOT-BLOT hybridization, DNA / RNA hybridization, RFLP, RT-PCR).
