Ochratoxin A is a mycotoxin which can be found in the numerous food and feed. Occurrence in animal feed can cause decrease in final body weight, average daily gain and food efficiency and thus economical losses. Also ochratoxin A can be found in edible tissue of farm animals and consequently to enter the human food chain and be a food safety issue. The research was done in the region of Vojvodina, Serbia. The aim was to determine the incidence of the occurrence of ochratoxin A in the kidneys of the healthy pigs. The sampling was done at the slaughter houses, at the slaughter line, by the principle of random sampling. The presence of ochratoxin A in kidney was determined by high pressure liquid chromatography after extraction procedure at the Laboratory for Quality Control of Feed and Animal Products, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture. The samples were from the three farms (four samples per farm) (n=12). Incidence of ochratoxin A in all samples of kidney was 33% in the range from 0.1‒1.81 ppb. All positive samples were from the same farm. The results from this study are in agreement with some previous researches.
