The restoration works of the Kakhetian swine on the edge of extinction.

The work on the restoration of the critically end angered Kakhetian pig are under way in a research center of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia. In particular, the origins of its distribution are searched for. A farm for raising the Kakhetian pig was established that will supply breeding pigs to local households and farms. At present, 140 heads of the Kakhetian pig are in the farm. The helminthological diseases of the Kakhetian pig were determined. A memorandum of cooperation signed with a Spanish ham producing company DERAZI Iberico provides for production of ham and its marketing abroad. Fig. 4, Ref. 6.
