Rational analysis of the farmers regarding digital and communication technologies (DCTs) utilization

The present study was carried out to analyze the relationship between profile characteristics of farmers and overall utilization of digital communication technologies (DCT) tools. For the study Parbhani district was randomly selected from Marathwada region of Maharashtra State. Three talukas viz., Parbhani,Gangakhed and Purna from Parbhani district and three villages from each taluka were selected randomly. From each village fifteen respondents were selected randomly. Each of those respondents selected was using a smart phone with internet facilities certainly engaged in agricultural operations constituting total sample size of 135. The Ex-post-facto research design was used for the study. A well structured questionnaire designed for study was used for collecting the data from respondents through personal interview method. The data collections from the respondents were edited tabulated and analyzed using suitable statisticaltools like frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearsons coefficient of correlation. The study noticed a certain relationship between profile characteristics of farmers and overall utilization of digital communication technologies (DCT) tools. It was stated that all respondents were having mediumlevel relationship with independent variables except land holding, annual income and scientific orientation shows non-significant relationship with overall utilization of DCT tools by the farmers.
