2005
Sokoine University of Agriculture
The dissemination workshop informed participants and enabled them to make recommendations and identify mitigation strategies for health risks associated with urban and peri-urban agriculture, in order to mitigate the risks of zoonotic campylobacteriosis and salmonellosis associated with chicken production, processing, and consumption. The major recommendation was adherence to sanitary and hygienic measures at the farm level, chicken-processing premises, and during preparation of ready-to-eat meat. The report covers paper presentations and provides statistical information.
