The value of each company is a marketmeasure of its overall performance and theresult of other various factors. This paper aimsto theoretically and empirically examine theimpact of capital structure indicators on thevalue of companies in the food industry on theexample of the Balkan countries. The analysisincluded a sample of 21 joint-stock companiesthat operated in the period between 2016 and2018. The research was conducted using thepanel regression analysis. The results of theresearch indicated the existence of a positiveand statistically significant relationship betweenthe capital structure and the value ofcompanies, as well as the existence of apositive and statistically significant relationshipbetween the size and value of companies.Therefore, it can be concluded that the generalattitude of the trade-off theory has beenconfirmed.
