International trade in honey – current state and trends | Međunarodni promet meda – stanje i tendencije

The paper analyzes the international trade inhoney. The analysis determined the changes inthe international trade, the largest exportersand importers as well as trade flows of honey.The data source was the statistical database ofthe International Trade Center (ITC) for the period 2015-2019. The average world export ofhoney amounted to 660 thousand tons, with atrend of slight growth at a rate of 0.31%annually. The value of the world export ofhoney amounted to 2.2 billion US dollars. Theworld's largest exporter is China, which is alsothe world's largest producer with production of129 thousand tons, accounting for 19.6% of theworld export. The world's largest importer ofhoney is the United States with production of186 thousand tons, accounting for 27.6% of theworld import. The achieved turnover wasinfluenced by relatively low consumption ofhoney in the world, which is at the level of 0.25kilograms per capita annually
